Frequently Asked Questions

When do entries open and close?

Entries for each rodeo open at noon three Tuesdays before the rodeo. Entries for each rodeo close at 11:59 PM two Tuesdays before the rodeo.

Are late entries accepted for each rodeo?

Late entries will be accepted only in events where the performance is not filled to 12. If there is a slack, late entries will not be accepted. Committees or Stock Contractors may choose to not open late entries. The late entry period will close the Tuesday before the performance or when the performance is filled. Contestants must fill out the late entry form online, they cannot pay at the rodeo. A late entry draw will be posted Thursday before the performance. A fee of $25 will be added to each late entry.

Can I pay for my entry at the Rodeo?

No, all entry fees must be paid online. Rodeo Secretaries do not collect any money onsite.

Do I need a Membership to enter a CCPRA Rodeo?

No! Contestants are not required to be members of the CCPRA to compete. Contestants that are not CCPRA Members can purchase a "Day Permit" for the rodeo(s) they would like to enter. Day Permits are $30 and are purchased on the entry form for each rodeo. If a contestant that entered a rodeo on a Day Permit wins over $500, their membership will be automatically deducted from their winnings and they will become a CCPRA Member!

What are the benefits of being a CCPRA Member?

CCPRA Members get preference when it comes to performance priority at a rodeo! Plus, members do not have to purchase a Day Permit. Any money that a CCPRA Member wins will be added to the Standings. The top 12 contestants and the top youth contestant with the most winnings at the end of the year will qualify for the CCPRA Finals Rodeo to compete for added money, saddles, and awards!

I won my membership at a Rodeo, what now?

Congratulations! The CCPRA office will assign you a Membership Number and add you to the Standings. You can now enter any future rodeos as a CCPRA Member.

What is a Buddy Group?

A Buddy Group is a group of contestants that are traveling to the rodeo together and need to be drawn up together. Each contestant must list the Buddy Group on their entry forms for it to be valid! Only four people can be in a Buddy Group, Timed Event Contestants cannot Buddy with Rough Stock Contestants unless they are married. If CCPRA Members Buddy with a Day Permit, it lowers the CCPRA Members priority. If one contestant in the Buddy Group is Drawn out, the entire Buddy Group is drawn out.

What does "First Preference or Out" mean?

If you state "First Preference or Out" on your entry form you will be Drawn Out and Refunded if you are not drawn into your First Preference.

Is there a Minimum Rodeo Count to qualify for the CCPRA Finals?

No, you do not need to compete in a certain number of rodeos to enter and compete at the CCPRA Finals! You will be eligible to in Finals awards. However, you will need to compete in at least 5 rodeos to qualify for the Year End awards and title.
